چکیده
Due to increased copper production and the associated environmental consequences, processes need be improved, considering impact of their byproducts, among others slag. This study investigated leaching individual constituents iron silicate slag from a smelter. was done by characterising granulated samples its – glass, matte, speiss determine contribution. It observed that in distilled deionised water without pH regulation achieved various natural for constituents. At pH, glass (Cu, Zn) (Ni, Sb) contributed leaching. Static titrations showed Zn, Cu, Ni, As, Sb with decreasing pH. The results that, an consisting matte speiss, contributes as follows: Cu Sb. Zn is similar

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag
1. Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is a by product of the steel industry. Blast furnace slag is defined as “the non-metallic product consisting essentially of calcium silicates and other bases that is developed in a molten condition simultaneously with iron in a blast furnace.” [1] In the production of iron, blast furnaces are loaded with iron o...
متن کاملStimulation Behaviour Study on Clay Treated with Ground Granulated Blast Slag and Groundnutshell Ash
The major decision in construction process involves the selection of suitable site with best soil conditions, as structure resides in the soil. Most problematic soils like expansive soils hardly proved to be the best engineering subgrade profile for pavement constructions. Thus, this has undeniably led to the soil improvement options accompanying the reduction in resource depletion and solid wa...
متن کاملMechanical and leaching behaviour of slag-cement and lime-activated slag stabilised/solidified contaminated soil.
Stabilisation/solidification (S/S) is an effective technique for reducing the leachability of contaminants in soils. Very few studies have investigated the use of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) for S/S treatment of contaminated soils, although it has been shown to be effective in ground improvement. This study sought to investigate the potential of GGBS activated by cement and lime...
متن کاملEcotoxicity of Concretes with Granulated Slag from Gray Iron Pilot Production as Filler
This paper focuses on research concerning the ecotoxicological properties of granulated slag from the pilot production of gray iron with red mud addition and concrete composites with the application of this slag. Red mud is a hazardous waste generated in the production of aluminium oxide. Negative ecotoxicological tests are, therefore, one of the basic prerequisites for the ability to use granu...
متن کاملAcoustic Absorption of Hemp Walls with Ground Granulated Blast Slag
Unwanted sound reflection can create acoustic discomfort and lead to problems of speech comprehensibility. Contemporary building techniques enable highly finished internal walls resulting in sound reflective surfaces. In contrast, sustainable construction materials using natural and vegetal materials, are often more porous and absorptive. Hemp shiv is used as an aggregate and when mixed with li...
